Karwa Chauth 2018:- On 27th October 2018 Karwa Chauth 2018 will be celebrated among regions like Rajasthan, Punjab, and western UP. On this day married women and those who are very close to get married pray for the safety and long life of their husbands, fiancés or desired husbands.


Karwa Chauth 2018 Dates {27th Oct}, Why Karwa Chauth is Celebrated:-

All the women will wear fancy bridal and will fast for the whole day. They will only break their fast only after moon sighting. Bollywood and Indian daily soaps have played a big part in increase the interest among Indian women. The festival falls on the fourth day of the Kartik month in the lunisolar calendar

The fast of the women will be broken by their husbands by giving water with their own hands to their respective wife. On this day of Karwa Chauth 2018 women wake up early and perform all their rituals before the sunrise. On the beginning of their day they starts with Sargi which consists of a plate full of heavy and nutritious meal which consists of ghee loaded halwa, dry fruits and fresh fruits given by their mother in laws. After eating all these they will not eat on the whole day and not even drink water. They will only able to drink after the moon sighting only.

Women buy new earthen pots which also mean Karwa and decorate them. They also put gifts like bangles, bindis and sweets inside them. On the day of Karwa Chauth 2018, they exchange their karwas with other ladies.

The origin of the Karwa Chauth has been started since Mahabharata when Savitri begged for her husband’s soul from Lord Yama. And another event which is the root of the Karwa Chauth is when Draupadi observe a strict fast for her husband Arjun Safely home return from Nilgiris just like Goddess Parvati did for her husband Shiva’s safety.
